News from Patanumbe~~~~~~~

Preparations continue for Pastor Pallanygo’s visit to Vernon.

He arrives in the U.S. on…

Wednesday, September 6 and departs on Tuesday September 19.  While he is with us he will attend a Meru Partnership Committee Meeting and as many events at Vernon that we can squeeze in.  We want to make sure that he has time with the Senior’s Group, the Youth Group, the Sunday School, and perhaps a social with the council.

Please let me know if you have an event that you would like Pastor Pallangyo to attend and we will do our best to have him there – this needs to be done ASAP so he can have an itinerary before he gets here.

Patanumbe Sunday will be celebrated on Sunday, September 10.  We’d love to have you dress in colorful clothing and join us for a special day of worship.  Pastor Pallangyo will share a message with us that day.  After worship we will have the traditional auction.  Donations of auction items would be appreciated – baked goods, produce, eggs, special services (lawn raking, yard clean up, window washing – be creative!), gift and novelty items.  We will also have a silent auction so small gift and novelty items will be accepted for that as well.  All proceeds will be sent to Patanumbe Parish.

Your help is needed to make this a special time for Pastor Pallangyo.  If you have questions please contact Chris Peterson or Sue Johnson.

Recently I received an email from Pastor Pallangyo’s 16 year old daughter, Anneth.  When I visited in February she was waiting for an assignment to a government high school.  She wanted me to know that she has been assigned to Nganza High School in Mwanza region (lake zone region).  She will study physics, chemistry, and biology, in preparation to being a doctor of the senses.
