Helping Others
Our congregation’s worship extends beyond the walls of our church through our mission work. From youth to seniors, we are proud to make a difference in the world through the power of God’s love. As we are drawn more deeply into the abundance of God’s love, we long to share generously with others. Our partnerships in mission are local, regional and international and not only help those in need, but unite us in common bonds of humanity.
Mission of the Month: Each month, a portion of our collected offerings is given to the chosen organization of the month.
In addition, we donate 5% of our collections are given to the Greater Milwaukee Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Our outreach missions in 2021 will be…

Supporting Homeless Families in Waukesha County
Vernon has an ongoing mission commitment to the Hebron House of Hospitality in Waukesha for over 20 years. Simple monthly meals consisting of casserole, salad, bread, vegetable tray, and cookies are home prepared and transported by rotating volunteer members of our church. Wouldn’t you like to help out this ministry that means so much to so many? “My command is this; Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12 For over 30 years, Hebron House has been the largest nonprofit provider of services to the homeless men, women and children in Waukesha County. We thank our community of friends and supporters for enabling us to make a difference. Now is the time to join us in our mission to prevent homelessness by providing home, help and hope to those in need. Sign-up sheets are available at the resource wall next to the hallway doors or simply call your Vernon Office and ask to be signed up.
